Expectations and the Reality of Small Business Ownership

In this one-hour seminar, Rockford small business owner Dave Pedersen (Maze Books) prepares potential small business owners for the road ahead by providing them with the expectations and the realities of small business ownership, using his personal journey of opening, running, and maintaining an independent bookstore.

Dave Pedersen is the owner and founder of Maze Books, an independent bookstore and publishing house located in downtown Rockford, Illinois. He is an Army veteran, a community organizer, and served as a member of Dogtag Inc.’s first Chicago Cohort. Dave holds a bachelor’s degree in pre-clinical psychology from Governor State University, a certificate of business acumen from Loyola, and attended Northwestern University at the graduate level for poetry and prose.
